Da Bears!!

Trivia Question:

Who is the newest member of the Bears Season Tickets????

Me.  :)  Section 129, baby!  I picked up the tickets today.  :)  2 years ago, I was able to go to 8 of 11 home games.  Last year, I missed all 12.  In fact, I couldn't even watch them on TV.  That was the most difficult thing about Afghanistan.  That and no Sushi.  This year I'll have my own seats at the Soldier Stadium.  Can't wait to see them in action.  SUPERBOWL!

I'm BACK!!  Good bye, AFGHANISTAN!

Finally, I'm done with my deployment.  I landed in North Carolina 2 nights ago.  Army Sucks.  Please if you are considering joining the military, don't join the Army.  Join, (Ch)air force, Marines, or Navy.  Not the Army.

If Air Force can find my bags, I will be home in few days.  And I won't have to deal with the Army again!!

I am BACK!!

I got 15 days off to come home and enjoy the BEARS win the SUPERBOWL!!  It was an awesome feeling when we finally landed in America after 5 days of travelling from Afghanistan to Kuwait to Germany.  People cheered and clapped as we touched down.

Last 7 months have been pretty crazy.  Luckily none of my soldiers and sailors hasn't been killed, some of our friends were.

I will be going to Miami for the Superbowl.  I don't have a ticket yet, and I don't know if I will spend 4 G's for it, but I will enjoy the time in FL.  I do have a flag that was flown in my FOB (forward operating base) and hope to give it to Lovie Smith for good luck.  My province, Khost, has some ties with NFL.  Pat Tillman was stationed and killed there.  I've been near where he was killed, Tillman Pass.  We have an irrigation project about 3 km away from the spot.

I'm in Germany right now.  First time in Europe.  Too bad I can't leave the airport.  I'm definitely not looking forward to wearing the body armor in 100+ degree weather.  I'll be skinny again.  I am however looking forward to helping the poor Afghanistan people.

I can't believe the Bears lost.  Stupid Peanut.  Secondary blew it.  I wasted thousands of dollars thanks to Bears and Colts.  Come on Denver.  I was at the game as usual, same section, 146.  Not the greatest seats, but hey, it's 100 level.  Ok.  So I was really worried that Bears were gonna make it to the SuperBowl and I had to sell my tickets because I have to be in Norfolk, VA on the Monday 6th.

Yup, it's official.  I am leaving to the Middle East, Afghanistan.  Yes, it shouldn't be as bad as Iraq, but I will be gone for the whole YEAR.  365 days in Afghan and prior to that 10 weeks of training in NC.  I am getting prepared to deploy: got my will done, power of attorney, etc.  I am excited.  I should be doing some great humanitarian work for the Afghan people.  My last day in Chicago will be the 5th Feb and sometime in April/May I will arrive somewhere in Afghanistan to rebuild the country.  Nice..  Pray for me.  :)
